MAKING SIMPLE SUBLIME
STANFORD · 2019–2020
Statement

Making Simple Sublime was an installation built for my MFA thesis at Stanford, 2019–2020. The piece reproduced my studio and domestic space — the same room doubled and redoubled until the line between original and copy lost traction. In the central section, fragmented mirror walls broke the reflective space apart, turning the viewer into a visible component of the work rather than a spectator of it. The work occupied three connected rooms.
