SAN FRANCISCO · 2012
Statement Twenty-Four began with a constraint: one painting per hour of the day, one city. The process: spend a month in the city, crowdsource twenty-four locations from residents — one assigned to each hour — return to each location at that hour, document with video, photographs, and found objects from the site, then select twelve to paint, six day and six night. San Francisco was the first city. The show opened at Sandra Lee Gallery, October 4, 2012. Output: twelve paintings, twenty-four hours of video, photographs, and found material from each location.

Twenty four hours, twenty four locations, twenty four videos, each documenting a different piece of San Francisco. In the life of a city these seconds, minutes and hours weave together the sights, sounds and activity that form the seen and unseen San Francisco.
